Mounting Instructions

NOTICE: Before you install the PowerConnect™ RPS-60, consult the User's Guide for your PowerConnect switch to confirm that your switch supports the PowerConnect RPS-60 redundant power system.

The PowerConnect RPS-60 is an external redundant power system that provides a second redundant power supply for your PowerConnect switch, eliminating the power supply as a single point of failure. To use the RPS-60:

1Attach the adapter tray to the back of the switch by tightening the two mounting screws.

2Insert the power adapter into the tray.

3Plug the power adapter’s DC cable into the connector labeled "RPS" on the back of the switch.

4Connect the AC power cable to the power adapter, and then plug it into an electrical outlet.

The switch is now using both power supplies simultaneously. You can monitor the status of the two power supplies with the front-panel LEDs on your PowerConnect switch.
