Check all cable connections, and fold cables out of the way to allow for airflow between the fan and
cooling vents.

Reinstall the front drive bezel. See "Removing and Replacing the Front Drive Bezel" on page46.

Ensure that all connectors are properly cabled and firmly seated.

Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page43.

Reconnect the system to the electrical outlet, and turn on the system and attached peripherals.
See the documentation that came with the drive for instructions on installing any software required for
drive operation.

Enter the System Setup program (see "Entering the System Setup Program" on page27), and ensure
that the drive’s controller is enabled.
NOTICE: If the fan cable from the optional hard-drive carrier is not correctly connected to the FAN_HDD
connector on the system board and detected by the system BIOS, premature drive failure can occur.

Verify that the
Optional Hard-Disk Drive
field in System Setup displays
Installed
. See "Integrated
Devices Screen" on page32.

Exit the System Setup program, and reboot the system.
