Section 7 Setting Up OS/2 Workstations

This section explains how to set up a server workstation to create and share AXIS 1440 print queues in an OS/2 environment.

If you plan to use your AXIS 1440 in a multiprotocol environment, you need to set it up in each environment on your network. See the relevant sections in this manual.

Note: Since EPSON does not provide OS/2 printer drivers with the supported printers, you must obtain these drivers from third-party vendors.

Installation Using AXIS Print Utility for OS/2

Use the AXIS Print Utility for OS/2 to configure the AXIS 1440 printer port on your OS/2 workstation.

Install this utility on server workstations when printing in client-server mode. (You don’t have to install it on client workstations.) You’ll find the installation program for AXIS Print Utility for OS/2 in the os2\install directory in the AXIS Utilities disk 1.

You can use the internal web server or AXIS NetPilot in a Win OS/2 window to change the default parameters of the AXIS 1440.
