Modifying the TCP/IP Options for Wide Area Networks

Follow the procedures in this section to modify the TCP/IP options for Wide Area Networks (WAN) for the Windows operating systems (98, 2000, ME & XP).

Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition

TCP/IP settings are automatically set up during the software installation process. The following procedure may be used to change TCP/IP settings, if necessary.

Procedure 4-6: Set the TCP/IP for Windows 98

1.From your PC desktop, double click the My Computer icon.

2.From the “My Computer” window, double click the Dial-Up Networking icon.

3.From the “Dial-Up Networking” window, right click on the Dial-Up PPP Connection icon and click Properties.
