1. OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW

1.15Interference Rejector

Mutual radar interference may occur in the vicinity of another shipborne radar operating in the same frequency band (9 GHz). It is seen on the screen as a number of bright spikes either in irreg- ular patterns or in the form of usually curved spoke-like dotted lines extending from the center to the edge of the picture. Activating the interference rejector circuit can reduce this type of interfer- ence.

Interference

1.Press the MENU key to open the menu.

2.Choose the Echo menu and press the ENTER key.

3.Choose Interference Rejector and press the ENTER key.

Off

Low

Med

High

4.Choose Off, Low, Med or High as appropriate and press the ENTER key. High provides the highest degree of interference rejection.

5.Press the MENU key to close the menu.

Be sure to turn off the interference rejector when no interference exists, so as not to miss small targets.
