Map Range/Overzoom

AUTO ZOOM

Auto Zoom allows the GPSMAP 695/696 to change the map display range to the smallest range clearly showing the active waypoint. Auto Zoom can be overridden by adjusting the range and remains that way until the active waypoint changes, a terrain or traffic alert occurs, or the aircraft takes off.

Enabling/disabling autozoom:

1)With the Map Page displayed, press the MENU Key.

2)Turn or move the FMS Joystick to highlight ‘Set Up Map’ and press the ENT Key.

3)Turn the FMS Joystick to highlight the ‘General’ Menu.

4)Move the FMS Joystick to highlight the ‘Autozoom’ field.

5)Turn the FMS Joystick to access the ‘On/Off’ drop down list.

6)Turn or move the FMS Joystick to highlight the desired option, and press the ENT Key.

MAP PANNING

Map panning allows the pilot to:

View parts of the map outside the displayed range without adjusting the map range

Highlight and select locations on the map

Review information for a selected airport, NAVAID, or user waypoint

Designate locations for use in flight planning

View airspace and airway information
