Chapter 3 — Configure the Computer

Configure 802.1x Security with Funk Security

Before you set 802.1x-WEP security with Funk security, you need to enable the radio on your computer and set the date. To use TLS protocol, you also need to load a user and root certificate. Intermec recommends that you use WPA2-802.1x instead of 802.1x-WEP if possible.

1Start Intermec Settings.

2Select Communications > 802.11 Radio > Funk Security.

3Select a Funk security profile to configure.

4Enter the SSID.

5For Association, select Open.

6For Encryption, select WEP.

7For 8021x, select TTLS, PEAP, or TLS.

8If you selected TTLS or PEAP:

a For Prompt for Credentials, select Enter credentials now. b Enter a User Name and a User Password.

9If you selected TLS, enter a User Name and Subject Name.

10For Validate Server Certificate, select Yes.

11Tap OK.

Configure LEAP Security with Funk Security

Before you set LEAP security, you need to enable the radio and set the date on your computer.

1Start Intermec Settings.

2Select Communications > 802.11 Radio > Funk Security.

3Select a Funk security profile to configure.

4Enter the SSID.

5For Association, select Open, WPA, WPA2, or Network EAP.

The default encryption is TKIP for WPA, AES for WPA2, and WEP for Open or Network EAP.

6For Prompt for Credentials, select Enter credentials now.

7Type a User Name and User Password.

8Save your settings.
