TheInvacaretransportableoxygenconcentratoristobeusedbypatients

isnotintendedtosustainorsupportlife.
Theoxygenconcentrationleveloftheoutputgasrangesfrom87%to
95.6%.Theoxygenisdeliveredtothepatientthroughtheuse���ofanasal
cannula.Thetransportableoxygenconcentratorprovidestwomodesof
operation;pulseflowandcontinuousflow.Inpulseflow,whenthe
demandforoxygenisdetected,theoxygenisdeliveredwithpulseflow
settingsof1through5.Incontinuousflow,oxygeniscontinuouslyflowing
withsettingsfrom0.5LPMto3.0LPM.
TheInvacaretransportableoxygenconcentratorusesamolecularsieve
andpressureswingadsorptionmethodologytoproducetheoxygengas
output.Ambientairentersthedevice,isfilteredandthencompressed.
Thiscompressedairisthendirectedtowardoneoftwonitrogenadsorbing
sievebeds.Concentratedoxygenexitstheoppositeendoftheactivesieve
bedandisdirectedintoanoxygenreservoirwhereitisdeliveredtothe
patientinspecificvolumesduringtheinhalationportionofadetected
breath.
TheInvacaretransportableoxygenconcentratoriscapableofoperationby
thepatientinahomeenvironment,inaninstitutionalenvironmentorina
vehicleorothermobileenvironment.Devicestandardpoweroptions
includeanACtoDCswitchingpowersupplyoperatingfromACpower
outlet(120VAC/ 60Hertzor230VAC/50Hertznominal),aDCsupply
operatingfromaccessoryoutletstypicallyfoundinamobilevehicletype
environment(12VDCnominal)andarechargeablebatterymodule.
