Installing the Battery Module
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.1onpage 20.
1. Raiseunithandletouprightposition.
2. Withbatterypacklabelfacingtowardthetransportableoxygen
concentrator,slowlylowerbatterymodulestraightdownintobattery
recesslocatedonbacksideofthetransportableoxygenconcentrator.
3. Approximatelyhalfwaydown,ensuresideribsonbatterymodulehave
engagedwithmatchingslotsonbacksideofthetransportableoxygen
concentrator.
4. Continueloweringbatterymoduleintoplace,pressingfirmlytoensure
contactwithbatteryconnectionslocatedonthetransportableoxygen
concentrator.
NOTE:DONOTslamorforcebatterymoduleintoplace,damagetobattery
connectionsmayoccur.
5. Ensurebatterymodulehasengaged.Batterygaugeandpercentagewill
nolongerreadzero.RefertoCheckingBatteryChargeLevelonpage22.
Charging the Battery
NOTE:Forthisprocedure,refertoFIGURE6.1onpage 20.
1. Tochargethebatterymodule,makesurethemoduleisfullyseatedon
theunit.
2. Performoneofthefollowing:
• ConnecttheDCpowercable(DETAIL“B”).
• ConnecttheACpoweradapter(DETAIL“C”).
3. Turnofftheunitforfastestchargetime.Chargingtimesareextendedif
unitisoperating.
NOTE:DCpowerinputmaynotbesufficienttochargebatteryatallsettingsif
unitisoperating.
NOTE:Ifthebatteryiscompletelydischarged,itwillfullychargein
approximately4to5hours.Duringregularuseofthetransportableoxygen
concentrator,itisrecommendedtorechargethebattery,evenifonlypartially
depleted,asoftenaspossible.
Battery Time Management
TimeawayfromhomeisalmostlimitlessbycombiningtheuseoftheAC
powersupply,DCpowercableandbatterymodules.Toensurethebatteries
maintaintheiroptimalchargelevel,utilizetheACpowersupplywhenever
youhaveaccesstoelectricpower.UtilizetheDCpowersupplywhenever
youareinavehicle.
