AUTOMATICELECTRONIC DIAGNOSTICS

Thefaceplatetimer(PWA)computerhasa self -diag-
nosticfunctionforthe electricalsystem,except for
inputpowerandwater meter.
Thecomputer monitorsthe elec-
tronic components andcircuits
forcorrectoperation.If amal-
functionoccurs,anerrorcode
appearsinthefaceplatedisplay.
Thechartbelowshowsthe errorcodesthatcould
appear,andthepossibledefectsforeachcode.
Whileanerrorcodeappearsinthedisplay,allface
platebuttons areinoperable except theSELECT
button.SELECTremainsoperationalsotheservice
personcanmaketheMANUALINITIATEDELEC-
TRONICDIAGNOSTICS(below) tofurtherisolate
thedefect,andcheckthewater meter.

turbineisoperating,andthepositionswitchopenor
closedstatus.

2.Press theON/OFF-HOLDbuttontoadvancethe
valvetothenextposition.Toverifycomponent
operation,ortopossiblyisolateadefect,observe
thefollowing.
POSITION SWITCHSTATUS:WIththevalvein
service,oranyof therechargecycles,theswitch
indicatorwill showopen.Whilethevalveis
rotatingfrom1positiontoanother,theindicatorwill
show theswitchclosed.Adefectisprobableif
indicationsvaryfromthispattern.
WATERMETERTURBINE:Withsoft waterinuse,
theturbineflowratedisplaycontinuallyrepeats a
000 to140 count foreachgallonof waterpassing
throughtheturbine.Thedisplaywill remaina
steady¼000 ifsoft waterisnotinuse(openanearby
soft waterfaucet tocheck).
If you don’tgetareadinginthedisplay,withfaucet
open,pull thesensorfromthevalveoutletport.Pass
a small magnetbackandforthinfrontof thesensor.
