Electronic grill display error codes

Before calling for assistance or service, please check
“Troubleshooting.” It may save you the cost of a service call. If
you still need help, follow the instructions below.
When calling, please know the purchase date and the complete
model and serial number of your appliance. This information will
help us to better respond to your request.

If you need replacement parts

If you need to order replacement parts, we recommend that you
use only factory specified parts. These factory specified parts will
fit right and work right because they are made with the same
precision used to build every new KITCHENAID® appliance.

Error Code Cause Fix
No Display 1. Check to see if 120v power supply cord is
plugged in.
2. Check the to see if both 1.5v “D” cell batteries
are installed correctly.
1. Plug in power supply.
2. Install or replace both 1.5v “D” cell batteries.
NP 1. Check the to see if both 1.5v “D” cell batteries
are installed correctly. 1. Install or replace both 1.5v “D” cell batteries.
LO 1. 20 lb LP tank is low on fuel. 1. Replace 20 lb LP fuel tank and tighten wing nut
in rear of tank tray.
E1 1. Burner valve was left open after Flame Time™
cycle was used. 1. Turn off all burner valves.
E2 1. Control module failure. 1. Note the error code and call service. See
“Assistance or Service” section.
AA : AA 1. Empty LP Tank calabration has been reset. 1. Note the error code and call service. See
“Assistance or Service” section.
EE : EE 1. The wrong size LP tank (larger than 20 lb) was
placed on the tank tray. 1. Check LP tank size to ensure only a standard
20 lb LP tank is used. Replace with the correct
size LP tank.
CC : CC 1. Appears momentarily when 20 lb LP tank is
moved or removed.
2. Appears momentarily when grill is converted to
Local LP (fixed pipe) or Natural gas.
1. Replace 20 lb LP fuel tank and tighten wing nut
in rear of tank tray.
2. Appears only momentarily when grill is first
converted to Local LP (fixed pipe) or Natural
gas.
