This explains the scanning procedure.

Operate from the [Scanner mode basic] screen on the LCD screen.

1 Touch the [ORIGINAL MODE] key.

The [Original mode] screen is displayed.

Text/Photo Enhance Mode

Select the [Text/Photo enhance mode] setting appropriate to the contents of the document. You can select from the following four settings.

„INCREASE CONTRAST

This applies contrast to documents written lightly and provides sharp images.

„PHOTO

This extends tones and provides an image close to that of a halftone reproduction.

„TEXT

This applies contrast to text to increase resolution.

„TEXT/PHOTO

This discriminates automatically between text and photographs and reproduces the quality of the document accurately.

Scan Density

Select the scanning density from [LIGHTER] to [NORM] to [DARKER].

z When setting the density automatically, touch the [Auto] key.
