UsingtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceresidesinaprotected,hiddenareaofyourharddiskdrivethat
operatesindependentlyfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem.Thisenablesyoutoperformrecovery
operationsevenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoper atingsystem.Youcanperformthefollowingrecovery
operationsfromtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace:
RescuelesfromyourharddiskdriveorfromabackupTheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceenables
youtolocatelesonyourharddiskdriveandtr ansferthemtoanetworkdriveorotherrecordablemedia,
suchasaUSBdeviceoradisc.Thissolutionisavailableevenifyoudidnotbackupyourlesorif
changesweremadetothelessinceyourlastbackupoperation.Youcanalsorescueindividuallesfrom
aRescueandRecoverybackuplocatedonyourlocalharddiskdrive,aUSBdevice,oranetworkdrive.
RestoreyourharddiskdrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackupIfyouhavebackedupyourharddisk
driveusingtheRescueandRecoveryprogr am,youcanrestoretheharddiskdrivefromaRescueand
Recoverybackup,evenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem.
RestoreyourharddiskdrivetothefactorydefaultsettingsTheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceenables
youtorestorethecompletecontentsofyourhar ddiskdrivetothefactorydefaultsettings.Ifyouhave
multiplepartitionsonyourharddiskdrive,youhavetheoptiontorestorethefactorydefaultsettingstothe
C:partitionandleavetheotherpartitionsintact.BecausetheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceoperates
independentlyfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem,youcanrestorethefactorydefaultsettingsevenif
youcannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem.
Attention:IfyourestoretheharddiskdrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackuporrestoretheharddisk
drivetothefactorydefaultsettings,alllesontheprimaryharddiskdrivepartition(usuallydriveC:)willbe
deletedintherecoveryprocess.Ifpossible,makecopiesofimportantles.Ifyouareunabletostartthe
Windowsoperatingsystem,youcanusetherescuelesfeatureoftheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceto
copylesfromyourharddiskdrivetoothermedia.
