1Remove the specified cartridge.
Warning—Potential Damage: Be careful not to touch the photoconductor drum. Doing so may affect the print
quality of future print jobs.
2Firmly shake the cartridge sidetoside and fronttoback several times to redistribute the toner.
3Reinsert the cartridge, and then touch Continue to clear the message and continue printing.
Notes:
Repeat this procedure multiple times until the print remains fad ed. When the print remains faded, replace the
cartridge.
Have a new cartridge available when the current one no longer prints s atisfactorily.
88.xx [Color] cartridge very low
The specified print cartridge is very low.

The specified print cartridge is critically low.

840.01 Scanner disabled by admin
Print without the scanner or contact your system su pport person.
840.02 Scanner disabled. Contact system administrator if problem persists.
The printer identified a problem with the scanner and automatically disabled it. Try one or more of the following:
1Remove all pages from the ADF.
2Turn the printer off.
3Wait for 15 seconds, and then turn the printer on.
Note: If turning the printer off and then on again does not cle ar the message, then touch Continue with scanner
disabled to return to the home screen, and then contact your system suppo rt person.
4Place the document in the ADF, and then adjust the paper guides.
5From the home screen, touch Copy, or use the keypad to enter the number of copies.
6Change the copy settings as needed.
7Touch Copy It.
