Movie files are recorded at approximately 250KB per second. A 16MB Compactflash card can store about 49 seconds of digital video. The table on the right shows the approximate total recording time with various capacity CompactFlash cards. Actual time depends on the subject and the amount of image and audio data stored on the card.

The table below indicates which functions can be used, which are fixed, and which are disabled in movie mode. Manual focus can be used before or during movie recording. The zooming ring can be used during recording, but the microphone may pick up the noise of the mechanism. The audio can be turned off with the movie menu.
