Using Your Phone’s Menus

The Browser Menu

The Wireless Application Services (WAP) browser is suitable for interaction with services such as on-line reservations, e-commerce and banking. It can also be used for accessing information such as stock prices, and sports news.

Using the WAP Browser is very similar to the way you would use a traditional web browser.

The browser allows you to:

Connect to the internet and interact with specially designed WAP services

View pages on the Internet designed specifically for WAP services

The option of surfing the Internet depends on the availability of this service from your Cellular Service Provider and whether you have subscribed to the service.

Before you can start using the WAP browser, you must configure your phone to use this service. See “WAP Profile” on page 122. Your service provider may have already done this for you.

Internet surfing and data transfer is greatly enhanced by using the high speed General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) functionality. GPRS availability depends on your Cellular Service Provider and whether you have subscribed to the service.
