Making and Receiving Phone Calls

GSM Emergency Calls

Your service provider programs one or more emergency numbers that you can call under any circumstances. If your phone finds a network, you can dial and call the emergency number even when your phone is locked, when you are prompted to enter a code or password, when the SIM card is not inserted in your phone, or when the SIM card is blocked or disabled.

Emergency calls are directed to a central emergency operator.

Note: Emergency numbers vary by country. Your phone’s emergency number(s) may not work in all locations.

Receiving a Phone Call

To receive a phone call:

Your phone must be powered on and unlocked.

You must be in an area with GSM 900 or 1800 service.

Your Call Diversion and Call Barring settings must not be set to divert or bar incoming calls.

When your phone receives a call, it rings and/or vibrates and displays the incoming call animation and the message Incoming Call. If you have Caller Line Identification, the caller’s number or name (if the name is stored in the phonebook) also appears.
