8.Changing Your Installation Type

This chapter describes how to change between the three application modes — Single-Host, Multi-Host, andCustom—afterinstallation.Theonlywaytochangefromoneapplicationmodetoanotheristo

rerunthedriver/softwareSetupprogram

Ifyoustartedoffbyinstallingyourserver as Single-Host,youwillhavenoticed,foronething,thatit isnotpossibletochangetheserver’sIPaddressfromthisapplicationtype.Ifatsomepointduringthe server’soperationyoufinditnecessarytochangetheIPaddress,sharetheportswithanother NT/95/98server,orinitiatesometypeofremotecontrolfunction,youwillneedtochangetoa differentapplicationmode.

Notethatchangingbetweenapplicationtypeswillnotautomaticallywipeoutpreviouslyset configurations.Besuretoselectthecorrectmodeforyourapplication.Seechapter2ofthismanual fordetails.

.Note: To change to a different application mode, you will need to rerun the Setup program.

See chapter 4 to install Single-Host, chapter 5 to install Multi-Host, and chapter 6 to install Custom.
