.Note: When using this procedure, only the selected server’s firmware is upgraded. If you

know that new NPort Pro Manager software has been released, it is recommended that you uninstall the old NPort Pro Manager program from your NT/95/98 host’s hard drive, and then install the new one.

Configuring Server Properties

TheServerProperties functioncanbeusedtochangetheserver’sname,password,and transmissionparameters.Choose Server

Properties fromthe Servermenu,or clickonthetoolbarServerProperties icontostartthefunction.

Server Properties—General

Youmaymodifythe ServerName, ServerIP,andNetmaskbyusingthe toolbarPropertiesfunction.

1.Select the General tab in the Server Properties window.

2.Modifythe ServerName,Server IP,andNetmask,asneeded.

3.Select Enable or Disable, for DHCP, depending on whether or not you are using a DHCP server.

Server Properties—Password

ToaddmoresecuritytoyourNPortServerPro,itishighlyrecommendedthatyousetapasswordas soonasyoucompletetheinstallation.IfyoudidnotsetthepasswordwhilerunningAddServer Wizard,oryouwouldliketochangethecurrentpassword,youmayusethetoolbarProperties functiontodoso.

Youmayalsousethisfunctionto“Auto-Save”,i.e.,tohaveWindowsNT/95/98rememberyour passwordforyou.Byautosavingthepassword,youwillnotbeaskedtoenterthepasswordwhen modifyingserverpropertiesfrom this computer.

.Note: Keep in mind that other people using your computer will also have ready access to the NPort Pro Manager functions.
