Configuring SNMP

SNMP Read/Write Settings

The following figures indicate which SNMP parameters can be configured. A more detailed explanation of each parameter is given below the figure

SNMP Versions

	Setting	Descriptions	Factory Default
	V1, V2c, V3	Select SNMP Versions V1, V2c, V3
		protocol to manage the switch
	V1, V2c	Select SNMP Versions V1, V2c protocol	V1, V2c
		to manage the switch
	V3 only	Select SNMP Versions V3 protocol only

V1, V2c Read Community

	Setting	Descriptions	Factory Default
		Use a community string match for
	V1, V2c Read	authentication, which means that the	public
		SNMP agent accesses all objects with	Maximum 30
	Community
		read-only permissions using the	characters
		community string public.
V1, V2c Read/Write Community

Setting	Descriptions	Factory Default
	Uses a community string match for
V1, V2c	authentication, which means that SNMP	private
Read/Write	servers access all objects with read/write
		Maximum 30 characters
Community	permissions using the community string
	private.

For SNMP V3, there are two levels of privilege for different accounts to access the EDS. Admin privilege allows access and authorized to read and write MIB file. User privilege only allows reading MIB file, but not authorized to write
