Specifying the Color Information to Learn
You can learnthe color information associated with an entire image,
aregion in an image, or multiple regions in an image.

Using the Entire Image

Youcan use an entire image to learn the color spectrum that represents the
entirecolor distribution o fth e image. In a fabric identification application,
forexample, an entire image can specify the color information associated
with a certain fabric type, as shown in Figure 3-6.

Using a Region in the Image

You can selecta region in the imaget o provide thecolor information for
comparison.A region is helpful for pulling out the useful color i nformation
in an image. Figure 3-7 shows an example of using a region that contains
the color information that is important for the application.
