Yourdevice is shipped in an antistatic package to prevent electrostatic
damage to the device.Electrostatic discharge can damage several
components on the device.To avoid such damage in handling the device,
takethe following precautions:
•Groundyourself via a grounding strap or by holding a ground ed object.
•Touchthe antistatic package to a metal part of your computer chassis
before removingt he devicefrom the package.
•Removethe device from the package and inspect the device for loose
components or anyo ther sign of damage. Notify NI if the device
appearsd amaged in anyway. Do not install a damaged device into
your computer.
•Nevert ouch the exposedpins of the con nectors.

YourNI 5102 is shipped in an antistatic vinyl case; when you are not using
thecard, you should store it in this case. Because the device is enclosed in
afully shielded case, no additional electrostatic precautions are necessary.
However,for your own safety and to protect the card, never attempt to
touch the pins of the connectors.
