Scene Mode (Shooting Suited to Scenes)

yMxScene auto selector

When you frame a picture, the camera automatically selects the optimum scene for simpler shooting.

When the camera automatically selects a scene mode, the shooting mode icon changes to that for the scene mode currently enabled.

ePortrait (close-up picture of one to two persons)

bPortrait (shooting a picture of three or more persons or shooting a composition with a large background area)

fLandscape

hNight portrait (close-up picture of one to two persons)

cNight portrait (shooting a picture of three or more persons or shooting a composition with a large background area)

Night landscape

gThe camera shoots images continuously and combines and saves them as one image in the same way as when Hand-heldin X(Night landscape) (A33) is selected.

d Other shooting scenes

The camera automatically selects the focus area for autofocus in accordance with the composition. The camera detects and focuses on faces (A80).

The digital zoom is not available.

CNote on Selecting a Scene Mode Using Scene Auto Selector

Depending upon shooting conditions, the camera may not select the desired scene mode. Should this occur, switch to A(auto) mode (A22) or select the optimum scene mode for the subject manually.

yMbPortrait

The camera detects and focuses on a face (A80).

The skin softening feature makes the subject's skin appear softer (A44).

If no faces are detected, the camera focuses on the subject at the center of the frame.

The digital zoom is not available.
