Taking Pictures with Your Favorite Settings
(Program AE Mode)
The camera automaticall y sets the shutter speed and the aperture value accordin g to the
brightness of th e subject.
You can take pictures w ith greater freedo m by changing vari ous settings in th e [Rec]
menu.
1Set the mode dial to [ ].
2Press the shutter button halfway and display
the aperture value and shutter speed value
on the screen.

•If the exposure is not adequate when the shutter but ton is pressed half way, the aperture
value and shutter speed turn red and blink.
In Program AE Mode, you can change the preset aperture value and shutter speed without
changing the exposure. This is called Program Shift.
1Press the shutter button halfway and display the aperture value and shutter
speed value on the screen.
2While the value s are displayed (ab out 10 seconds),
perform Program Shift by rotating the rear dial or
front dial.
CProgram Shift indication
•To cancel Program Shift, turn off this unit or rotate the front/
rear dial until the Program Sh ift indication disappears.
