Removing dirt on the image sensor
The image sensor is very precise and delicate, so be sure to observe the following when
you do have to clean it yourself.
•Blow off the dust on the surface of the image sensor wit h a commercially ava ilable blower
brush. Be careful not to blow too strongly.
•Do not put the blower brush furth er inside than the lens mount.
•Do not let the blower brush touc h the image sensor as the image sensor m ay get scratched.
•Do not use any objects except a blow er brush to clean the image sensor.
•If you cannot remove the dirt or dust with the blower, consult the dealer or P anasonic.
∫For care of the viewfinder/eye cup
•Do not press the lens with exc essive force.
•Do not leave the cam era with the lens fac ing the sun as rays o f light from the sun may cause it
to malfunction. Also, be car eful when placing the camera outsi de or near a window.
•When there is dirt (water, oil, and fingerprints, etc.) on the surface of the lens, the picture may
be affected. Lightly wipe the surface of the lens with a soft, dry cloth bef ore and after taking
pictures.
•Do not place the lens mount fa cing downwards. Do not allow the
lens mount contacts A to become dirty.
•Before you remove stains on th e viewfiner
and eyecup or start other types of cleaning,
remove the eyecup (1). Blow away the dust
on the viewfinder surface wi th a blower
(commercially avai lable), and wipe the
surface lightly with a dry, soft cloth. Attach
the eye cup after the cleaning (2).
•Be careful not to lose the eye cup.
•Keep the eye cup out of reach of chi ldren to
prevent swallowing.
