Making/Answering Calls Using the Base Unit

– for the landline press MLINE 1N or MLINE 2N.

Note:

R A maximum of 3 parties (including 1 outside party) can join a conversation. (3-way conference)

R To prevent other users from joining your conversations with outside callers, turn call sharing mode off (page 42).

Transferring calls

Outside calls can be transferred between 2 people.

1During an outside call, press MINTERCOMN.

When 2 or more handsets are registered: MbN: Select the desired unit. a MSELECTN R To page all handsets, press 0 or wait for a

few seconds.

2Wait for the paged party to answer.

R If paged party does not answer, press MINTERCOMN to return to the outside call.

3Press MZN.

Conference landline calls

3 people can establish a conference call.

Conference call with 2 outside calls

While you are talking with an outside caller, you can make or answer a 2nd call on the other line, and then combine the calls to establish a conference call.

1During an outside call, press MHOLDN.

2To make a 2nd call:

Press MLINE 1N or MLINE 2N, then dial the phone number.

To answer a 2nd call: Press MLINE 1N or MLINE 2N.

3When the 2nd call is connected, press

MCONFN.

R The 2 calls are combined.

R To hang up only one line, press MLINE 1N or MLINE 2N for the party with which you want to continue talking.

R To put both lines on hold, press MHOLDN.

–To resume both lines, press MCONFN.

–To talk with only one caller, press MLINE 1N or MLINE 2N for the party with which you want to continue talking.

Conference call with an outside call and an intercom call

While you are talking with an outside caller, one more extension can join the conversation and establish a conference call.

1During an outside call, press MINTERCOMN.

When 2 or more handsets are registered: MbN: Select the desired unit. a MSELECTN R To page all handsets, press 0 or wait for a

few seconds.

2When the paged party answers, press

MCONFN.

R If paged party does not answer, press MINTERCOMN to return to the outside call.

R The 2 calls are combined.

R To leave the conference, press MZN. The other 2 parties can continue the conversation.

Note:

R The outside call can be put on hold by pressing MHOLDN. Only the person who placed the call on hold can resume the full conference by pressing MCONFN.

Transferring a cellular call between the base unit and a cellular phone

Transferring a cellular call from the base unit to a cellular phone

During a cellular call, press and hold the corresponding cellular line key (MCELL 1N to MCELL 4N) until the SP-PHONE indicator goes out. R The cellular call is transferred to the cellular

phone.

Transferring a cellular call from a cellular phone to the base unit

During a conversation using a cellular phone, press the corresponding cellular line key (MCELL 1N to MCELL 4N).

R The cellular call is transferred to the base unit.

Using the other line during a conversation

You can handle a cellular call and a landline call at the same time. When another call is being received during a conversation, the interrupt tone sounds (page 40). You can answer the 2nd call while holding the 1st call.
