SOUND EDIT OPERATION (GUI OPERATION)

÷If you press the SOUND EDIT button on a function operation display, display switches to “SOUND EDIT” indications for the currently selected surround mode. (Press the EXIT button to return to the original function operation display.)

÷On the SOUND EDIT display, you can adjust levels and balances set to the speaker mode, etc.

SETTING THE SPEAKER MODE

You can set this unit to match the requirements and specifications of your stereo system’s speakers (whether or not center speaker(s), rear speakers or a sub-woofer are used, speaker size, etc.) to assure optimum sound quality.

÷Pressing the SPEAKER MODE button on the “SOUND EDIT” display takes you to the “SPEAKER MODE” display.

÷Set the SPEAKER MODE using the different buttons.

During Pro-Logic reproduction, this unit does not let you switch between NORMAL, WIDE, and PHANTOM center mode settings. However, setting the SPEAKER MODE as follows provides the same effects as these modes.

Set the rear speaker to NONE for conventional 3CH Logic reproduction.

Selects whether there is a sub-woofer or not.

LFE MODE

÷Attenuate LFE (Low Frequency Effect = ultra-low bass effect for more powerful movie sound or music) level. It changes in

sequence each time the

button is pressed.

NOTE:

If you set to “+10 dB”, front three channel (L + R + C) output power is required for the sub-woofer. If this is more power than the sub-woofer can handle, clipping may occur resulting in distortion.

LOW CUT FIL.

÷Switch ON if the sub-woofer does not have high power handling capabilities. (This enables bass boosting while reducing the possibility of the sub-woofer clipping.)

÷Set sub-woofer crossover frequency (highest frequency it can reproduce). Press to lower the crossover frequency and press + to raise it. (100 Hz/150 Hz/200 Hz)

CENTER DELAY S +6dBSETTING THE SPEAKER MODE L

÷Sets center channel delay time. Press S for shorter delay, press L for longer delay.

÷This is possible only when the AC-3 is selected.
