The 115V attachment plug (shown in Figure 6) supplied with the band saw, must be replaced with a
UL/CS A li sted plug suit abl e f or 230V operat ion ( sho wn i n Fi gure 7). Contac t your l ocal authori zed W alter

The band sa w m ust c om ply with all local and national codes after the 230 v olt plug is installed.
The band saw with a 230 v olt pl ug shoul d only be connect ed to an out let hav ing the sam e configuration
(see Figure 7) . No adapt er is available or should be used with t he 230 v olt plug.
Impo rt ant: In all cases (115 or 230 vol t s) , make certain the receptacle in questio n i s prop erly
grounded . If you are not sure, have a regi st ered el ectrician check th e receptacle.
NOTE: The lamp is design ed for use with 115V power. I f the saw i s converted to 230V, discontinue
use of the lamp, and use an al ternate l amp with an in dep end ent electrical sou rce.

Exte nsio n Cord s

If an extension cord is necessary, make sure the cord rating is suitable for the amperage listed on the
m achine’s m otor plat e. An undersiz ed cord will cause a drop i n li ne volt age resulti ng i n loss of power and
overheating.
Use the chart in F igur e 8 as a general guide in choosi ng the cor r ec t siz e ex tension c ord for the band sa w.
If in doubt , use the next heavier gauge. The smaller the gauge number, the heav ier the cord.
