3.4 Monitoring and Controlling UPS Operation

After you start the UPS, no operator intervention is necessary except for periodic checks of the UPS status. Manual operation is required only during routine maintenance or service. Use the Monitor Panel and the Control Panel to monitor and control the UPS. Figure 3-4shows the location of these two panels on the front of the UPS.

The Monitor Panel on the left front of the UPS continually indicates the present mode of UPS operation. This panel contains an LCD screen, backlit status indicators, and the LOAD OFF button. Use the LCD screen on the Monitor Panel to view performance meters or graphic representations of UPS operation. The Monitor Panel is described in detail in Chapter 5,

Monitor Panel is located inside the UPS above the Control Panel.

Open the right front door of the UPS to view the Control Panel containing various controls and switches. These control power to and from the UPS, and allow you to change the UPS mode manually. The Control Panel is discussed in
