Scanning Custom Size Originals
Scanning Part of an Original
This section explains how to set a custom size for scanning an area within an original.
Important
❒Depending on the default setting of [Start Position] or [Scan Area], you might not be able to make settings for [Original Size] before other items. If this is the case, first make settings for [Start Position] or [Scan Area], and then [Original Size]. For details about making default settings for [Scan Area] and [Start Posi- tion], see General Settings Guide.
To scan a section of an original, measure Original Size (X1 and Y1), Start Position (X2 and Y2), and Scan Area (X3 and Y3) on the surface of the original, and then enter those values in the same order. Measuring methods differ depending on the original’s orientation and the position it is set in. The following example show how to measure the size in order to scan the section marked “R”. Refer to the following examples to measure each size correctly.
