Security

The Security settings allow you to determine the security level for your phone.

Encryption

To require a numeric PIN or password to decrypt your phone each time you power it on or encrypt the data on your SD card each time it is connected:

Tip: Make sure your battery is charged more than 80 percent or the charger is connected. Encryption may take an hour or more.

Warning! If encryption fails, it will be necessary to perform a factory data reset (see see “Factory Data Reset” on page 113).

1.From the Home screen, tap Settings More Security.

2.You must first set up a screen lock type if you haven’t already done so. For more information, refer to “Screen Lock” on page 90.

3.Tap Encrypt device. For more information, read the displayed help screen.

4.Tap Encrypt external SD card to enable the encryption on SD card data that requires a password be entered each time the microSD card is connected.

Find my mobile

Remote controls

Remote controls uses the SamsungDive service to track and control your device remotely. Also, using the Find my mobile feature, you can find your missing phone. See www.samsungdive.com for more information.

To enable remote controls:

1.From the Home screen, tap Settings

More Security Remote controls.

2.Tap OK.

3.Tap the ON/OFF slider to turn Remote controls on.
