Duplicating a Video Tape

Duplicating a Video Tape

If you connect the VCR to another VCR or camcorder, you can duplicate a previously recorded tape.

Make all connections before turning on the power.

Recording a DVD/CD Disc

You can record disc material in DVD, Audio CD, etc. onto a Video tape with this VCR.

For duplicating a previously recorded tape from a camcorder, follow the camcorder manufacturer’s instructions. A typical camcorder dubbing hookup is shown above.

1.Load a blank cassette tape with the erase prevention tab intact into the recording VCR.

Load a previously recorded tape into the playback VCR or

CAMCORDER.

2.Press [TAPE SPEED] to select the desired tape speed SP or SLP.

“SP” or “SLP” appears on the TV screen.

Preparation

Turn ON the TV and select the corresponding video input.

Load a cassette tape with the erase prevention tab intact.

Load a DVD/CD disc.

Press [VCR] to select the VCR mode. (The VCR indicator on the front panel will light.)

1.Press [TAPE SPEED] to select the desired tape speed SP or SLP.

“SP” or “SLP” appears on the TV screen.

2.Press [DVD] to select the DVD mode.

3.Press [a] to start playback.

4.Press [REC/OTR] to start recording.

The unit will change to the VCR mode automatically and the playback picture or sound will be duplicated on the video cassette tape.

It is recommended that you set the Speed to the SP mode on the recording VCR for best results.

3.Press [INPUT] to select AUDIO/VIDEO input position. “L” will appear on the FL display.

4.Press [REC/OTR], then press [k]. (Recording standby mode)

5.Press the play button on the playback VCR or CAMCORDER, then press the pause button. (Playback standby mode)

6.Release the recording pause and the playback still simultaneously to begin the duplicating process.

5.Press [n] if you finish recording.

If you wish to stop a main unit disc, press [DVD] to change the DVD mode, then press [n].

Notes:

You may not be able to record the beginning of the disc. Begin VCR recording once program playback commences on the DVD.

You can not record discs encoded with copy guard function. The following icon will show up on the TV screen.
