Using Abbreviated Dialing
Abbreviated Dialing is similar to speed dialing.You can use
either of the following abbreviated dialing features.
䢇Contacts Matchto retrieve any desired number saved in your
Contacts by entering only the last three to six digits of the
number.
䢇Prependto predefine the first five- or six-digit prefix you wish
to use for abbreviated dialing,so that you can dial a number by
entering only the last four or five digits of the number.
Above feature becomes available when you enable
Abbreviated Dialing feature.(See “Setting Abbreviated
Dialing”on page 43.)
To place a call using abbreviated dialing:
1. Enter the last 3-6 digits of a Contacts entry’s phone number
saved in your Contacts.

Enter the last four or five digits of your desired number to use
the prepend feature.
2. Press or .
Note: If the digits match more than one entry, the Abbrev. Dial list will
be displayed; highlight the correct entry and press or
again.
WhenPrepend is set to Enable and Contacts Match is set to
Disable, you can display the 10-digit number (including the
predefined prepend number) by entering the last four or five digits
of the number.
When both Contacts Matchand Prepend are set to Enable and
your desired number is not saved in Contacts, you can display
the 10-digit number (including the five- or six-digit prepend
number) by entering the last four or five digits of the number.
