Releaseleven releases the platen. This lever must be down for

printing on singlesheets, and up for fanfold forms.

Topcover: protects the print head and other parts.

Rear cove~ protects the sprocketfeed mechanism.

Entryslot: for inserting single sheetsof paper.

Controlpanel: controls various printer functions.

Powerswitch: switches power on and off.

Conneetor: for connectingthe computer to the printer.

Mount the platen knob

The platen knob is packed into arecess of the white foam packing

materialwhich heldyour printer insidethe packingbox. Be carefulto remove

the knob beforedisposing of the packing.

Mount theplaten knob on its shaft on the right side of the printer. Turn

it until you can push it in all the way.

Power should alwaysbe off when you turn the platen knob.
