ADJUSTINGTHEPRINTING GAP
The distancebetween the print head and the platen can be adjusted to
accommodatedifferent paperthicknesses. To make thisadjustment, remove
thetop cover. The adjustment lever islocated near the left end of the paper
bail. Pulling the adjustment levertowards you widens the gap; pushing it
away from you narrows the gap.
Thereare four positions;youcan feelthe leverclickingintoeach position.
The firstposition (narrowest gap) is the one most commonly used for single
sheetsof paper. Try differentpositions untilyou get the bestprinting results.

DIP SWITCH SEITINGS
When you remove the printer’scover and look inside, you will see on
the green board at the bottom of the printer two groups of small white
switchesmarkedDSW1 andDSW2. These arethe printer’sDIP (Dual In-line
Package) switches. DSW1 has eight switches, named 1-1 to 1-8 from left
to right. DSW2 has four switchesnamed 2-1 to 2-4.
For allswitches, the ON positionis towards the back of the printer and
the OFF positionis towards the front. To set aDIP switch, useaballpoint
penor other small implementto move theswitch tothe ON or OFF position.
Theprinter’spower shouldbe offwhenyousetthe DIP switches. Settings
made whilepower is on do not take effect until power is switched off, then
on again, becausethe printer reads the DIP switchesonly at power-up.
