Definesone or more new draft characters and stores them in RAM for
later use. Draft modemust be selected before this command is executed.
nJ and n2 give the number of bytes of character data that will follow.
aois the character code of the first character defined. al and a2 are at-
tributes bytes. m] to mll are the character data, and are the same as in
<ESC>‘c&.Theattribute byte a] indicates whether the character is
an ascender(not using the lowest of the nine vertical dots) or adescender
(not usingthe highest dot) and whether it has adownward extension to
12dots.
The attribute byte a2 gives proportional-spacing information. Bit 7is
ignored. Bits 4to 6specifythe offset to the first byte printed (O to 7),
enablingleading spaces in the character to be ignored. Bits Oto 3specify
the width of the character cell (maximum 11dots). The character will
be followedby aman&tory blank dot column which is not included in
this width.
Characters defined by this command can be selected by <ESC> “%”
1, <ESC>“I” 4, <ESC >“I” 5, or <ESC >“l” 6.This command is
ignoredwhen DIP switch 2-1 is ON.
