• Be sure to use memory modules of the same type, same speed, same frequency
on the same motherboard. Mixing of memory modules of different types and
speeds is not allowed.
• Due to memory allocati on to system devices, the amount of m emory that
remains available for operatio nal use will be re duced when 4 G B of RAM is
used. The reduction in memor y avail abilit y is dispr opor tion al. See the f ollow-
ing table for details.
• For Microsoft Windows users: Microsoft implemented a design change in the
Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) and Windows Vista. This change is spe-
cifi c to the behavior of Physical Address Extension (PAE) mode which improves
driver compatibility. For more information, please read the following article at
