The settings library
Off: The system will not use enc ryption.
Example: Conference 1 Encryption Mode: Be stEffort
Conference [1..1] DefaultCall Protocol: < H323/SIP>
Specify the Default Call Protoc ol to be used when placing ca lls from the system. The call proto col can also
be defined directly for each cal l when setting up a call.
H.323: Select H.323 to ensure that calls ar e set up as a H.323 calls.
SIP: Select SIP to ensure that calls ar e set up as a SIP calls.
Example: Conference 1 DefaultCall Protocol: H323
Conference [1..1] DefaultCall Rate: <64.. 6000>
Specify the Default Call Rate to be u sed when placing calls f rom the system. The call rate can a lso be
defined directly for each call w hen setting up a call.
Range: 64-6000 kbps
Example: Conference 1 DefaultCall Rate: 766
H323 Profile [1..1] PortAllocation: <D ynamic/Stati c>
The H.323 Port Allocation settin g affects the H.245 port numb ers used for H.323 call signal ling.
Dynamic: The system will allo cate which ports to use whe n opening a TCP connection. Th e reason for doing
this is to avoid using the same ports fo r subsequent calls, as som e firewalls consider this as a s ign of attack.
When Dynamic is selected, the H.323 p orts used are from 11000 to 20999. Once 2099 9 is reached they
restart again at 11000. For RTP and RTCP media data , the system is using UDP ports i n the range 2326 to
2487. Each media channel is using two adjacent po rts, ie 2330 and 2331 for RTP and RTCP resp ectively.
The ports are automatically s elected by the system within the g iven range. Firewall admini strators should not
try to deduce which ports are u sed when, as the allocatio n schema within the mentio ned range may change
without any further notice.
Static: When set to Static the por ts are given within a static pre defined range [5555– 6555].
Example: H323 Profile 1 PortAllocation: Dynamic
H323 Profile [1..1] H323Alias ID: <S: 0, 49 >
Lets you specify the H.323 Alias ID wh ich is used to address the system o n a H.323 Gatekeeper and will be
displayed in the call lists. Exam ple: “name.surname @company.com”, “My H.323 Alias ID”
Format: String with a maximu m of 49 characters
Example: H323 Profile 1 H323Alias ID: “”
H323 Profile [1..1] H323Alias E164: <S: 0, 30>
The H.323 Alias E.164 defines the address of the system, acco rding to the numbering pla n implemented
in the H.323 Gatekeeper. The E.164 alias is equivalent to a telepho ne number, sometimes combin ed with
access codes. Example: “ 9047615901”, “”550092”
Format: Compact string with a ma ximum of 30 characters. Vali d characters are 0–9, * a nd #.
Example: H323 Profile 1 H323Alias E164: “”
H323 Profile [1..1] CallSetup Mode: <Direc t/Gatekeeper>
The H.323 Call Setup Mode defines whet her to use a Gatekeeper or Dire ct calling when establ ishing H323
calls.
Direct: An IP-address must be us ed when dialling in order to m ake the H323 call.
Gatekeeper: The system will use a Ga tekeeper to make a H.323 call. When se lecting this option the H323
Profile Gatekeeper Address and H323 P rofile Gatekeeper Discover y settings must also be c onfigured.
NOTE! Direct H.323 calls can be made ev en though the H.323 Call Setup Mode i s set to Gatekeeper.
Example: H323 Profile 1 CallSetup Mode: Gatekeeper
H323 Profile [1..1] Gatekeeper Address: <S : 0, 64>
Specifies the IP address of the Gate keeper. Requires the H.323 Call Setup M ode to be set to Gatekeeper
and the Gatekeeper Discover y to be set to Manual.
Format: String with a maximu m of 64 characters.
Example: H323 Profile 1 Gatekeeper Address: “10.47.1.58”
The Do not disturb setting
DoNotDisturb Mode: <O n/Off>
The Do Not Disturb setting deter mines whether or not there sh ould be an alert on inco ming calls.
On: Set to On when you want no alert to i ncoming calls. The call ing side will receive a busy s ignal when
trying to call the codec.
Off: This is the default sett ing. The DoNotDisturb is auto matically turned Of f if the codec receives any IR
signal from the handheld remote c ontrol.
Example: DoNotDisturb Mode: Off
