Crunchy waffles with chocolate sauce and ice cream

250 g plain flour • 1 tbsp baking powder • 1 pinch of salt • 2 tsp sugar • 75 g melted butter • 2 eggs • 250 ml milk • 1 glass of Brandy • vanilla ice cream

Sift the baking powder, leaving it to stand for 15 minutes in a glass of water with the sugar.

Add this mixture to the beaten eggs and butter.

Then add the milk, the flour, the Brandy and the salt until you get a runny consistency. Leave the batter to stand for 3 hours in a warm room.

Then cook as instructed.

Before serving, add 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and top it with some chocolate sauce (they can also be eaten with sugar or jam).

Mini waffle recipes

Fit the mini waffle inserts (*).

Spread the mixture making sure the entire area is covered but without spilling over the side of the plate.

Close the appliance, wait for 10 seconds then turn the appliance upside down to allow the batter to spread well and to cook evenly.

Keep in this position for 2 minutes.

Turn the appliance right side up and leave to cook for a further 1 1/2 minute. Avoid opening during cooking.

Place the waffles on a cooling tray and wait for 1 minute before eating: they become more crispy.

Breakfast Waffles

3 egg yolks • 370 ml milk • 250 g plain flour • 2 tsps baking powder • 3 tsps sugar • 1/2 tsp salt • 8 tsps oil • 3 egg whites

Mix the egg yolks and the milk.

Add the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt and mix well. Add the oil.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and incorporate into the batter.

Sponge Waffles

5 egg yolks • 5 tbsp hot water • 100 g sugar • grated zest of one lemon

150 g plain flour • 1/2 tsp baking powder • 5 egg white

Beat the egg yolks, water, sugar and the grated lemon zest.

Mix the flour and the baking powder and add to all the other ingredients. Beat the eggs whites until stiff and incorporate them into the mixture.
