Connecting the printer

Printer ports

Both the Phaser 220i and Phaser 220e printers accept data through these ports:

■LocalTalk

■Parallel

■Serial (RS-232)

The Phaser 220i has a SCSI port, which is used only for connecting an external hard disk. Refer to “Adding a hard disk for font storage (Phaser 220i only)” on page B-3 for more information on the SCSI port.

The Phaser 220i also has an Ethernet connector. An optional Ethernet interface is required to activate the connector. The optional Ethernet interface provides Ethernet connectivity with EtherTalk and Novell NetWare protocols. The TCP/IP protocol is also available by purchasing an additional option.
