Printer languages: PostScript, HP-GL, PCL5

With Adobe IntelliSellect™ technology, Phaser 220 printers can automatically sense the language of the print job and process it accordingly. This is called automatic language selection. You can also set up any printer port to receive one language only. If you set up a port to receive a particular language only, the port will only accept jobs of that type. The printer reports an error if another language is sent to that port.

The following table shows the default language setting for each port.

Enabling and disabling automatic language switching

To enable or disable automatic language selection on a port, send the appropriate PostScript language file to the printer. For more information, see the manual Phaser 220 Drivers and Utilities Printing Reference.
