4.9 CPU Cooling Module and Fan

Removing the CPU Cooling Module and Fan

CAUTION: When removing the cooling module, keep the following in mind:

The cooling module can become very hot during operation. Be sure to let it cool down before starting the repair work.

Do not touch or cause damage to the fan in the cooling module.

Remove the CPU cooling module and fan according to the following procedures and Figures 4-25, 4-26.

1.Disconnect the fan cable from CN13.

2.Remove two M2.5x6 black bind screws securing the fan.

3.Remove two M2x4 white flat-head screws securing the CPU cooling module using the indicated numbered order.

4.Remove the CPU bracket.

5.Remove the CPU cooling module and fan.
