(a)When defrost conditions are reached, and before starting the cycle, the compressor turns off during the dc interval (can be set to between 1 and 3 minutes). Once the com- pressor is off, the 4-way valve inverts its position during the dc/2 interval to allow pressure balancing. During this process, the controller does not consider compressor pro- grammed timings and, therefore, the compressor goes on and off intermediately.

If dc = 0, this procedure is deactivated.

(b)When the defrost cycle is over, the compressor turns off during the dd interval (can be set to between 1 and 3 minutes). Once the compressor is off, the 4-way valve inverts its position during the dd/2 interval to allow pres- sure balancing and elimination of drops of water in the

outdoor exchanger.During this process, the controller does not consider compressor programmed timings and, there- fore, the compressor goes on and off intermediately.

If dd = 0, this procedure is deactivated.

Pump operation

Three operating modes of the water pump can be selected in accordance with the value give to the H5 parameter.

Parameter H5 Pump operating mode

0Pump absent

(1)In permanent operation

2In operation under call from the controller (demand for cool or heat)
