ZyWALL 5/35/70 Series User’s Guide

Click SECURITY, FIREWALL to open the Default Rule screen. Enable (or activate) the firewall by selecting the Enable Firewall check box.

Use this screen to configure general firewall settings when the ZyWALL is set to router mode.

LABEL	DESCRIPTION

Enable Firewall	Select this check box to activate the firewall. The ZyWALL performs access control
	and protects against Denial of Service (DoS) attacks when the firewall is activated.
Allow	Select this check box to have the ZyWALL firewall permit the use of triangle route
Asymmetrical	topology on the network.
Route
	Note: Allowing asymmetrical routes may let traffic from the WAN go
	directly to a LAN computer without passing through the
	ZyWALL. See Appendix I on page 722 for more on triangle
	route topology and how to deal with this problem.
