By implementing PPPoE directly on the NBG4615 (rather than individual computers), the computers on the LAN do not need PPPoE software installed, since the NBG4615 does that part of the task. Furthermore, with NAT, all of the LANs’ computers will have access.

Encapsulation

Select PPP over Ethernet if you connect to your Internet via dial-up.

 

 

User Name

Type the user name given to you by your ISP.

 

 

Password

Type the password associated with the user name above.

 

 

Retype to

Type your password again to make sure that you have entered is correctly.

Confirm

 

 

 

MTU Size

Enter the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) or the largest packet size per frame

 

that your NBG4615 can receive and process.

 

 

Nailed-Up

Select Nailed-Up Connection if you do not want the connection to time out.

Connection

 

 

 

Idle Timeout

This value specifies the time in minutes that elapses before the router

(sec)

automatically disconnects from the PPPoE server.
