Appendix C Customizing the printer

This appendix describes two ways you can customize your

KODAK DIGITAL SCIENCE 8650/8650 PS Color Printer to enhance its performance. They are by:

connecting an external hard drive to the printer.

adding additional memory to the printer.

Connecting an external hard drive enables you to store ADOBE Type Manager (ATM) fonts (not included) making them permanently accessible to the printer.

You can purchase ADOBE fonts for your 8650 printer from your local distributor. To learn more about available ADOBE products, visit their Web site at http://www.adobe.com.

Adding additional memory has several benefits. Adding more memory may allow you to:

increase the speed at which images are processed.

download more fonts with PostScript jobs.

simultaneously process and print more and/or larger jobs.
