F. INSTALLING THE CLEANING ROLLER

The printer is shipped with a Cleaning Roller separately packaged. When installed, the Cleaning Roller removes dust particles from a blank card as it feeds into the printer. By cleaning the cards, this roller helps prevent contaminated cards from passing beneath the Printhead, thus extending the PrintheadÕs life and allowing for higher quality output. Refer to the following steps to install the Cleaning Roller:

1.Remove the Cleaning Roller from its packaging.

2.Open the Top Cover of the printer by pressing the Cover Release Button. (If you have already installed the ribbon, remove it from the printer.)

3.Lower the Cleaning Roller down into the Cleaning Roller Bracket which resides just below the Ribbon Sensor. Note that this roller should be cleaned every 250 prints to maintain print quality and extend the life of the Printhead. Refer to Section 7-J for cleaning instructions.
