To reduce the print length and move the end of the printable area more toward the leading edge of the card, press the On/Cancel button to enter a negative value. To increase the print length and move the end of the printable area more toward the trailing edge of the card, press the Pause/Resume button to enter a positive value. Notice the arrows on these buttons indicate the direction the length of the printable area will move on the card. The maximum adjustment range is ± 32 pixels. As a rule, 10 pixels equals about .030Ó/.8mm which is about the same as the thickness of a standard CR-80 size card.

Once the adjustment is complete, press both buttons simultaneously to exit a specific option and return to the main menu. Once you are done making adjustments, press either button to scroll to the LCD screen which states:

To QUIT PRESS

RESUME+CANCEL

As instructed, press both buttons to exit the adjustment mode. The LCD Display will then prompt you with the following message:

CANCEL=NO SAVE

RESUME=SAVE DATA

Press the On/Cancel button to cancel any adjustments you just made to the Internal Printer Settings, or press the Pause/Resume button to save your adjustments. Once you have made your selection, the printer will exit the adjustment mode and return to the ÒPrinter ReadyÓ status.

IMPORTANT! It is highly recommended that after making adjustments to the Internal Printer Settings you print a self test according to the instructions in Section 4-E. This self test print will help you determine if the Image Darkness, Image Placement, and Print Length are set properly. If your printer has a magnetic stripe encoder or a smart card contact station and you adjusted the Magnetic or SmartCard Offset options, test these adjustments by sending down a command to encode from your specific software program.
