B. INSTALLING THE WINDOWS PRINTER DRIVER

The printer can be used with virtually any Microsoft Windows 3.1x, Windows 95/98, or Windows NT software application program. This is accomplished by installing what is called a Òprinter driver.Ó The printer driver is simply a diskette with software on it which gives the printer all the information needed for printing.

Three separate printer driver diskettes are included and labeled for use with Windows 3.1x, Windows 95/98, and Windows NT. Install the appropriate printer driver for your system. After youÕve installed the driver, put the driver diskette away in a safe place for possible future use. For details on all printer driver options, refer to Part F of this section.

NOTE: This section of the OperatorÕs Manual assumes that you are already familiar with Windows and know how it operates. If you are not yet familiar with Windows, consult the appropriate Microsoft documentation to become familiar with the basics of Windows before proceeding.

Windows 95/98 or Windows NT

To install the Windows 95/98 or Windows NT printer driver, refer to the following:

1.Insert the printer driver diskette into your computerÕs disk drive.

2.Click the Start button, point to Settings, and select Printers.

3.Double-click on the Add Printer icon.
