7 Troubleshooting and tips

Take note of the safety notes in the manual "Safety and Ergonomics" and in the chapter

"Installation", when you connect or disconnect cables.

 

If a fault occurs, try to correct it according to the following procedures. These are described:

in this chapter

in the documentation of the connected devices

in the help systems of the software used.

If you fail to correct the problem, proceed as follows:

ÊNote the steps carried out and the system status when the error occurred. Also make a note of any error messages displayed.

ÊSwitch the server off.

ÊContact your customer service center.

7.1Operation indicator remains dark

Power cord incorrectly connected

ÊMake sure that the power cable is correctly connected to the server and to the grounded power outlet.

Power supply overloaded

ÊPull the power plug of the server out of the power outlet.

ÊWait a few seconds and plug the power plug into the power outlet again.

ÊSwitch your server on.

7.2The server switches itself off

Server management has detected an error

ÊIn the ServerView program check the error list or check the Error Log file using the SCU utility; and attempt to eliminate the error.

7.3The screen stays blank

Monitor is switched off

ÊSwitch your monitor on.

Screen has been blanked

ÊPress any key on the keyboard. or

ÊDeactivate screen blanking (screen saver). Enter the appropriate password.
